Waking up 4-5 times a night may not be a good thing either even if you are getting 7 – 8 hours of sleep. Basically, sleep is composed of two stages; where the first is mainly for mental consolidation while the latter helps in physical repair and rebuilding.</p>
<p>Here are some tips that help me sleep better:</p>
<p>- Do some exercise during the day – not till your muscles hurt too badly<br />

- Use your brains during the day<br />

- Try to sleep the same duration; meaning if you plan to sleep 7hours, make sure if you go to bed at 11pm; wake up at 6am and if you sleep at 1:30am; wake up at 8:30. Of course the former example is better than then latter. Again, easier said than done.<br />

<p>- 3-fold increased risk of heart attacks (Partly because you look like a zombie and scared the shit out of you)</p>
<p>- increased risk for high BP by 350% to 500%</p>

<p>Unless you want to stand a high chance of getting heart attack, high blood pressure and looking like crap, it’s best to get adequate sleep. Research has shown that a good 7-8 hours for grownups should be sufficient.</p>
